The Sierra Canyon Trailblazers hosted the Sons of O’ahu, Punahou Buff-N-Blue Saturday night. The two teams met last year on O’ahu, and now face off on the continent. The trailblazers looked to remain undefeated after shutting out their first two opponents and Punahou would look to pull an upset after starting the season 2-2.
The trailblazers led under coach Jon ellinghouse, would look to continue dominating the field and ripping through the opponents defenses. They put a combined 98 points on offense for their first two games. their offense led by Senior QB, Larid Finkel, went off against the buff-n-blue with 4 touchdowns on a 19-30 attempts/completions and threw for 335 yards. another offensive weapon for the trailblazers, Senior wr and usc commit, tron baker, would set the tone on their first drive and first play with a touchdown. Another weapon on the receiving core, lsu commit, havon Finney Jr, who got himself a touchdown late in the first half. The trailblazers were blazing thru the first half and didn't look back.
From the jump, it was all Sierra Canyon and their defense led by 5 star Senior DL/E, Richard Wesley. The University of Texas commit made it difficult for the Buff-N-Blues to put a score up on the board. The defense also led by db USC commit, Madden Riodan, made his presence shown and made big plays to stop the buff-n-blue from reaching the end zone.
the Buff-n-blue look to take this loss and learn from their performance and head into the ilh season hoping to get back into the win column against the Kamehameha warriors.
