Kahuku, hi
kahuku looked to bounce back at home after week 1 tough opener against the crusaders of st Louis. in week 2 of the red raiders season, they would face-off against another ilh opponent from the town of kapalama. the Kamehameha warriors made their way up north to continue their strong opener after taking down the Farrington governors last week.
two teams looking to get the win, it would take all three phases of the game to lock in the win for week 2. all eyes were on the north shore as both teams headlined with their big stars college commits. Kamehameha senior, Malakai lee, is a 4 star offensive lineman committed to the university of Michigan wolverines. senior three star tight end, taimane Purcell, is committed to the university of California Berkeley. as for the red raiders, the senior defensive trio of linebackers, Talanoa ili, Malaki soliai-tui, along with corner back, madden soliai, are all California bound. Talanoa ili is a 4 star usc commit. rated the #3 linebacker in the class of 2026 by 24/7, Talanoa would be sharing the field with his family by his side in Malaki and madden as they are both 3 stars committed to ucla. with many talent on the field, we would be in for a treat to see these high ranked high school stars go up and up.
Both teams opened up very strong on the defensive end and would be scoreless in the first quarter. Kahuku would be the first to get on the scoreboard with Kahuku Senior QB, Matai Fuiava, rushing for his first TD of the season. Kahuku Sophomore RB, Toa Sam, would also add to their scoreboard with two rushing touchdowns of his own. Kahuku's defense held Kamehameha to just one scoring drive and secured their first win of the season. a much needed win for big red, as they move forward week by week to find their identity in hopes of bringing back the koa wood back to the north shore.
kahuku will go on the road and travel to the big island to face the konawaena wildcats for week 3.
final score: Kahuku 21 - Kamehameha 9
