The annual Manoa Cup Tournament went underway this week at the Oahu Country Club as they featured the best women golfers. The final round took place Friday morning, as Kara Kaneshiro and Ava Cepeda would go head to head in hopes of capturing their first ever title.
both finalist have an impressive resume. former Kalani high school alumni and current student athlete at Colorado state university, kara kaneshiro, had previously played in the Manoa cup tournament, but fell short back in 2022. with a chance to redeem her loss, her opponent is no stranger to Hawai'i. the class of 2025 kahuku alumni, Ava Cepeda, had recently won the 2025 hhsaa individual championship. Cepeda who is an avid golfer, looked to add another title under her belt before heading off to start her freshman year at the university of New Mexico.
It would be a close match between the two, but Kara would take the lead late in the match and would come out victorious. kaneshiro and Cepeda both tested their experience and skill levels to show why they’re some of the best golfers in the State of Hawai’i. Both golfers battled it out all week and brought the best of the best out of all golfers. Kara Kaneshiro gets her bounce back is named your 2025 116th Manoa Cup Champion!
